Alex Alburqueque, a Peruvian, began his studies as a vocalist
(baritone) at Montgomery College in Maryland, soloing in Mozart’s Requiem
Mass in D Minor. He continued his musical studies at the University of
Maryland where he sang in Don Giovanni and in workshops where he
interpreted arias from Samson and Delilah, La Fille du Régiment, Don
Pasquale, and The Marriage of Figaro among others. He has worked
as a vocalist with Zarzuela Di Si in Los Gavilanes and provides opera
workshops to schools in the DC area. He has also worked with HHS Productions
recording voice-overs for documentaries. He is currently La Luna’s
Experience Theater music instructor and as an actor, he can be seen in
The Box of Surprises, Hansel and Gretel, ABE: a Dream Fulfilled, The Cat and the Seagull and
Drops of Water. He was also seen in She Returned One
Night, Kick-Butt Women, CHÚMBALE Every Love Bird Needs a Nest
and
Heartstrings,
along with roles in La Luna’s playreadings. |
